The Criminal Justice Alliance, a network comprising over 200 organisational and academic members approached us to redesign their current website.

The challenge

The CJA needed a refreshed website to align with their vision of a fairer criminal justice system. Key considerations included understanding the diverse members and audience, ensuring relevant content and making all content easily accessible.

Key goals:

  • Establish the CJA as a trusted information hub for members and those interested in the field, offering news, analysis, jobs, and events.
  • Showcase excellence in the criminal justice sector, highlighting their work, member contributions, and the CJA Awards.
  • Promote new member sign-ups

The process

We overhauled the Criminal Justice Alliance’s website, aligning closely with their goals and understanding their unique challenges and historical analytics data. A content audit led to a new sitemap and desired features. We then created wireframes and prototypes for the site’s layout and functions. In the design phase, we matched the aesthetics to the client’s vision, crafting a modern look and producing a custom HTML/CSS layout and WordPress integration.

Our content strategy, optimised for SEO, filled the site with engaging information. We carefully managed the transition from the old site to preserve SEO rankings. Finally, we trained the client on WordPress to ensure they could easily update their new site moving forward

What we delivered

Enhanced User Experience

The modern design and improved navigation resulted in a more intuitive user experience, fostering increased engagement and longer visits to the website, contributing to a notable increase in membership sign-ups.

Improved Engagement between Members

We introduced advanced category filters to enhance the user experience for the 200-plus members so they could reach out to other members in their local area and use them as a point of content as required

Efficient Content Management

The client is now able to update and manage content through the WordPress platform. The WordPress integration and content strategy enabled the alliance to provide regular updates, reports and news postings ensuring that members remained well-informed about the latest developments in the criminal justice system.

Enhanced Search Engine Visibility

SEO-optimised content boosted the website’s search engine rankings, attracting more organic traffic.

A massive thank you to the Highscore team. The website looks fantastic – we are really happy with it. It looks fresh, inviting, professional, informative and modern. I’m going to be proud to send people to look at it, unlike our old one!  Thank you once again – You have gone the extra mile for us and we really appreciate it.

Nina Champion, Director of the Criminal Justice Alliance
